Jane Bard, President & CEO of the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire has 29 years of professional educational experience in formal and out-of-school-time settings. Jane started her career as a 3/4 multi-grade teacher at Village Elementary School in York, Maine before becoming the Museum’s Director of Education for 18 years. As President, she is responsible for executing the Museum’s Strategic Plan, overseeing Museum operations and working collaboratively with Museum staff and board of directors to fulfill the organization’s mission to actively engage families in hands-on discovery and championing the vision of inspiring all children to become the next generation of innovators and creative thinkers.
Jane’s accomplishments include developing and initiating the Museum’s first curriculum-based school visits, launching a series of pre-school programs which serve Head Start and Home School groups, creating traveling exhibits and outreach programs to reach underserved students, developing training and mobile resources for after-school care providers, spear-heading the Museum’s state-wide library initiatives and designing the S.T.E.A.M Innovation Lab exhibition and program space.
Jane received dual Bachelor’s degrees in English and Journalism from the University of New Hampshire, and a Master’s degree in Education and K – 8 teacher certification from the University of New Hampshire.
